We all have a “grave responsibility” before God and the people around us to defend and protect innocent life, a prominent religious congregation has said.
In a letter dated April 3, the Congregation of St Mother Teresa of Calcutta said that we experience tension and violence in areas all around the world, and that this “sadly” extends to our families.
The letter states that St Teresa repeatedly proclaimed around the world that abortion is the “greatest destroyer of peace today” because it is a direct killing of the innocent child.
“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want.
Destroyer
“This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.”
The letter adds that all of us are alive today because our mothers chose to accept the life God planted in their wombs, and that the congregation promise to pray for the people of Ireland.
