Adults can lead by example at Mass

Adults can lead by example at Mass

Dear Editor, For thousands of people who were never taught good catechesis, the Catholic Church is assessed by how they see its members (including priests) behaving in the ordinary living of life.

The Church is also judged by the quality of honour, adoration and meaningfulness associated with the presentation of the Mass. From the first genuflection and sign of the cross at Mass, the dignity and reverence of the Mass are, or may not be, established.

We have a lot to answer for. Attending Mass may be the only occasion at which children will learn to respect the mysterious presence of the Almighty.

Yours etc.,
