American Idol winner Carrie reveals her ‘strong’ faith

Country music star Carrie Underwood has spoken of her “strong” faith in God.

The 2005 American Idol winner also revealed her goal as a parent is to raise her son as a “loving” Christian.

The Jesus, Take The Wheel singer spoke to People magazine about the importance of faith to her family:

“We want to go to church, not just for lessons and learning, but also to have a community,” she said, adding that it was important for her to be surrounded by people who are sincerely trying to raise their children well, “keeping everything as loving as possible”.

The singer also revealed she has a nightly ritual of reading children’s Bible stories with her son Isaiah Michael and husband Mike Fisher, who is a professional ice hockey player.
