WMOF 2018
A number of Arab families are attending the World Meeting of Families in Dublin today, made possible by the Irish members of a religious order which supports the presence of Christians in the Holy Land.
The families will be led by Bishop Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo, Vicar for Jerusalem. Families from Nazareth, Bethlehem and Israel are amongst those attending the meeting.
They are doing so on a arising from a subvention provided by the Irish members of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Founded in the early 12th-Century, the world-wide order has been supporting Christians in the Holy Land for many centuries.
A function to welcome them to Ireland will take place in 59 Eccles Street in Dublin today at 3pm.
Over 100 countries are represented among the individuals and families who have registered for the WMOF event from overseas, taking place from August 21-26.
