Archbishop blesses Order of Malta centre

Opening celebration for new training and community centre

Archbishop Dermot Clifford recently blessed a new training and community centre for the Order of Malta.

The €1m centre was opened last weekend in Thurles, Co. Tipperary by Commander Aidan O’Brien of the Order. A celebration Mass was held in honour of the occasion in the Pallotine College, followed by a blessing by the archbishop, who commended the Order for its dedication and hard work in helping the sick.

The Order of Malta’s mission is to help the sick, needy and most disadvantaged of society. They co-ordinate a number of voluntary community activities across Ireland and fundraise for many different charitable events and activities.
