Dear Editor, With the recent awards season (Oscars, BAFTAs etc.) I propose we strike a medal and award it to The Irish Catholic TV/radio critic, Brendan O’Regan. His tireless dedication in having to listen to hours of guff, propaganda and filth that most of our broadcasters spew out on the airwaves, deserves some recognition.
Recently he had a review of some ‘comedy’ on RTÉ. I don’t have the stomach to endure this trash but the brave Brendan ceaselessly warns us of such noxious programming and the cheap standard of political discourse to be found in the media. So stand tall Brendan as I shout “chapeau” for a job well done!
Yours etc.,
Declan Cooney,
Birr, Co. Offaly.
