Confusion during Mass

Dear Editor, People who go irregularly to Church don’t know whether to sit, kneel or stand at a funeral Mass. Those who attend Church regularly, sitting behind and to their side, copy them.

It is lacking in respect for the celebrant and regrettable that he is compelled to go to the microphone and request people to take up the proper position, when we, regulars, know what to do.

We could bring along those beside or near us (if they are not making a move) by reminding them gently in a whisper of what to do.  Be not afraid.  There’s unity in numbers.

Yours etc.,

Cathleen  Shortall,

Urlingford,

Co. Kilkenny.
