Corpus Christi procession graces the virtual world

A Minecraft user has taken the time to construct a Corpus Christi procession in the much-loved videogame.

The procession was replete with a monstrance and the Eucharist being borne by a priest beneath a processional canopy, and was accompanied by a large crowd.

Minecraft has found much favour among gaming-Catholics over the years as they’ve constructed churches, iconographic art and processions.

Since its release in 2011, the game has come to surpass 140 million users per month, and has sold over 200 million copies.

Swedish game developer and Minecraft creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson received $2.5 billion after selling the franchise to Microsoft, alongside the gaming company that developed the smash hit.
