Dear Editor, I wish to voice my total and absolute support for Archbishop Diarmuid Martin with regards to Maynooth. He is perfectly right to remove his seminarians even if there are only three. He cannot and should not take any risk that could affect the formation of these three men to the priesthood.
These allegations are of a very serious nature. This is not the first time that issues of a similar nature have affected Maynooth.
I am also particularly annoyed that priests can voice their opinions off the altar condemning Archbishop Diamuid Martin’s stance. Can the bishops and priests say 100% that these allegations are baseless? Is it worth the risk?
Yours etc.,
Patrick J. O Doherty,
Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.
