Dear Editor, Fr Rolheiser’s article on Mother Teresa, God’s purity arrives in the darkest of nights (IC 20/3/14) was hard to take.
In my life I have struggled with my own weaknesses to try to follow the way of Jesus Christ. I have found him to be my companion and guide but I also recognise my need for the times he chastises me. I seek reconciliation when my anger or self-centredness pass and, in his mercy, I know that I am warmly welcomed back into his love.
Mother Teresa was the classic example of continuing what was clearly good in the face of the storm. Even if God did not exist (as anyone can fear), to try to do some good in life is to prove the existence of good. She exemplifies this.
Yours etc.,
