Kerry parishes are being called on to do their bit for the environment as part of Earth Week 2014, which the diocese is celebrating from September 21-28, making the care of creation an integral part of diocesan and parish life.
Fr Gerard Finucane, Chairperson, Diocese of Kerry Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Committee said: “We have to examine how we live in harmony with God’s creation, how we use and share the goods of the earth and what we pass on to future generations.”
Parishes can participate in Earth Week 2014 by conducting an ‘Environmental Audit’ of their parish such as drawing up an environmental policy, promoting good practice and setting targets for reducing carbon emissions. Resources are available on www.dioceseofkerry.ie/justice
