50 young people from across the Diocese of Down and Connor complete award
A group of 50 young people from across the Diocese of Down and Connor recently completed the John Paul II Award, after taking part in an interactive workshop day at the Living Youth office in Belfast.
Seven experienced faith ministry workers from the diocese volunteered their time and skills to facilitate the series of workshops which encouraged the young people to consider what it means to be a baptised child of Christ, to encourage them to reflect on their own volunteering across the previous 16 months and to link this to scripture and what they as young Catholics are being called to do.
Two young adults from the diocese also led the young people through a session in which they discussed the value of young people in the Church. The day concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop Donal McKeown.
