It was an emotional moment for Fr John Brogan, parish priest of Kilskyre and Ballinlough, Co. Meath, when Pope Francis came over to greet him and impart a blessing at the Vatican last week. Fr Brogan, who is coping with illness, was a student at the Irish College in Rome during much of the pontificate of Pope Paul VI and it was a dream fulfilled for him to attend the Mass when Paul VI was beatified.
