Dear Editor, We wish to register our protest at Enda Kenny misusing the name of Jesus on live television while in the US for St Patrick’s Day celebrations. This was picked up and repeated by the Irish and UK media and it is not acceptable from our acting Taoiseach.
We do appreciate that he intended to make a humorous aside but this is no excuse – it is such a poor example of a role model for our young people.
We would remind Enda Kenny that the saint whom he was celebrating in the US would have been horrified by the leader of the Irish nation abusing the name of Jesus.
Yours etc.,
Paddy and Anne Monaghan,
Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
