A four-day film festival dedicated to the life and works of Blessed Mother Teresa is set to take place in India in the days running up to her canonisation in Rome on September 4.
Already an annual event that began after the announcement of her beatification in 2003 with a small number of documentary films on the famed sister of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, this year’s event, taking place in Kolkata from August 26-29 is promised as the biggest showcase to date of films focused on the late Albanian nun.
The screenings will take place at the Nandan multiplex, a state-owned film and cultural centre. Following the conclusion of the festival, the films will be toured around various locations in India before moving abroad.
