Members of Fine Gael opposed to the Taoiseach’s push for abortion have appealed to the party faithful to vote ‘no’ on May 25. Members attended the pro-life rally in Dublin at the weekend.
Spokesperson for the Chloe Kennedy, a member of the Young Fine Gael branch in Trinity College, “we want to send a clear message to Fine Gael supporters that it is okay to Vote ‘no’ on May 25.
“We believe that the Fine Gael members of Cabinet have betrayed Fine Gael voters and the values and heritage of the Fine Gael party on this all-important issue.
“We believe that, if the referendum is passed and the Government’s proposed legislation for abortion on demand is enacted by the Oireachtas, it will greatly diminish human rights protection in this country and will damage Irish society for generations to come,” she said.
