“God wants us all to reach our potential – this is his plan for us,” the papal nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Charles Brown, said during a visit to Tallaght’s Citywise Education Centre.
The archbishop was visiting the centre, which provides educational support for young people in under-served city communities, to meet some of Tallaght’s young people who will be travelling to Poland this month for World Youth Day.
Commenting on the importance of character formation in Citywise activities, Dr Brown said: “Character formation and striving to become a better person are all about learning the way in which God wants us to act. Everything you do here, whether it is sport, study or leadership, is designed to help you become that better person.”
Jack Martin from Oldbawn, one of the group’s 20 leaders who will visit Poland, said he had been looking forward to World Youth Day for months but had not realised the scale of the event until the nuncio described it.
