Desperate housewives actress identifies as Catholic
American actress Eva Longoria, who visited Dublin this week, has spoken of the importance of prayer in her life thanks to her Catholic upbringing.
In advance of speaking at the Web Summit technology festival in the RDS, the Desperate Housewives star told a Sunday newspaper she regularly prayed and attended Mass.
“I always say I’m culturally Catholic,” she explained. “But, no, I’m definitely identified as Catholic.
“I go to Mass. I listen to the Pope. I pray and I meditate. I think prayer is a form of meditation, but yeah, I grew up in a very Catholic family. So I carried that with me,” she said.
The actress, who was on her first trip to this country, also revealed that she has a collection of Celtic crosses in her house that her mother brought back from Ireland.
The 39-year-old activist addressed the Dublin Web Summit on Tuesday about her charity The Eva Longoria Foundation, which helps Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship.
