Courtney McGrailTegucigalpa’s Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga has said his homeland of Honduras is full of hate and needs to change, because “the future of the world is not found in a life without God and without the reference to the values of the Gospel”.
“We cannot go on like this,” said the cardinal, adding, “hate only produces more violence and hatred”.
The cardinal had been speaking about the murder of a lawyer who was defending a deputy and three family members allegedly involved in fraud against the State. Insisting that “honour begins to everyone”, the cardinal said “only God is the master of life”.
