In what is being billed as the first of its kind, iCatholic is to host a live discussion programme on Catholic Social Teaching as presented by Pope Francis.
The unique programme will be 30 minutes long and will include time for questions sent in by email, text, twitter or from the audience present at the broadcast from Renehan Hall in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth.
The panel for programme includes Director of Trocaire, Eamonn Meehan, Theologian Suzanne Mulligan, Social Justice Ireland Research and Policy Analyst, Michelle Murphy and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s Head of Social Justice, John-Mark McCafferty. The show will be presented by The Irish Catholic’s Cathal Barry.
Speaking to this paper, iCatholic Founder, Fr Bill Kemmy said: "We are very excited to host our first live panel discussion. We are hoping for lots of interaction and feedback from the viewing audience. We would appeal to parishes to help spread the word. The iCatholic player is designed to be our own channel, our own internet TV. We would invite people to give it a look. This is the only the start of what we hope to do and we would really welcome people's support,” he said.
The programme will be available to view at www.icatholic.ie/liveat 8pm on Tuesday, February 25.
