The Diocese of Kilmore recently celebrated fifty years since the promulgation of Vatican II’s document on the Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, at a special event in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan which was attended by representatives of many parishes and organisations in the diocese and further afield. The event also marked the composition of the new Aifreann Naomh Padraig agus Naomh Feidhlimidh by Dublin-born composer, Paul Flynn, who now lives in Cavan.
Speaking at the event, Bishop Leo O’Reilly of Kilmore congratulated all those involved in organising the occasion and those who performed during it. He also commended Paul Flynn for his new composition which he described as a welcome addition to the range of liturgical music already in existence.
