A spectacular concert to be held in Knock Basilica this weekend is inspired in large part by Laudato Si’ and is a “human-divine love story” that aims to celebrate the links between God, humanity, and the planet, according to composer Willie Hughes.
‘The Story of Love’, to be performed in the basilica on the evenings of Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 draws together Italian soloists and classical ballet star Irene Cattaneo, with choirs from Ireland and abroad for a musical extravaganza that will be streamed live on Pope Francis’ new prayer app.
The soloists will be supported during the four-part story of love, loss, forgiveness and reconciliation by Kiltmagh’s Cill Aodhain Choral Society and Knock’s Witness to Hope Choir, ending with a ‘Universal Choir of Love’ featuring recorded performances from choirs from around the world, including Rome’s Sistine Chapel Choir and St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir from New York.
