Knock deny singer Susan Boyle’s cash donation

Reports claimed that the Britain’s Got Talent star had forked out for refurbishment

The parish priest of Knock has rejected tabloid speculation that singing sensation Susan Boyle made a cash donation to help rebuild the basilica there.

Reports claimed that the Britain’s Got Talent star had forked out for the major refurbishment work on the church at the world renowned Marian shrine in Co. Mayo.

The rector of the shrine, Fr Richard Gibbons, however, has denied the claim.

He told The Irish Catholic that the Scottish star “hasn’t provided any donation or contribution to the shrine”.

The songstress, whose parents both hail from Donegal, has visited Knock on a number of occasions and spent time at the shrine before she became an international celebrity.
