Dear Editor,
Now that First Holy Communion and Confirmation have been administered to our young people, perhaps it’s time to take stock of the current situation. Many of the parents, and those who committed themselves to follow Christ in the Catholic tradition, will not be found in church at Mass the following Sunday but at rugby, soccer or GAA training. Granny may indeed be at Mass on behalf of all the others. If Archbishop Croke or Michael Cusack were alive what would they have made of it all? I wonder too about the bishops of our 26 dioceses and their deafening silence?
Yours etc.,
Pat Mulcahy,
Nenagh,
Co. Tipperary.
