Members of the Irish community in London will soon be able to access a fully stocked library of books of Irish interest thanks to a major donation of some 6,000 books to the London Irish Centre through an initiative supported by Irish readers and publishers.
Responding to a call by the Joint Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, books were submitted along with gift subscriptions from publishers to magazines and newspapers. Shelving and a full computer cataloguing programme were also donated, and the entire collection will be transported free by An Post to London.
