Golfing superstar Jordan Spieth, who wowed the world at the weekend with his record-breaking Masters win, is among players from across the PGA Tour who meet regularly to study the Scriptures.
Texas Native Spieth, a recent graduate of Dallas’ Jesuit College Preparatory School, attends the meetings alongside other top players such as Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson.
The 21-year-old credits much of his sporting success to his sister, Ellie, who has a neurological disorder that puts her on the autism spectrum.
The 14-year-old inspired her brother to set up the Jordan Spieth Charitable Fund, which raises money for young people with special needs. “Being Ellie’s brother humbles me every day of my life,” Spieth has said.
While he credits his sister, Spieth’s father Shawn attributes his eldest son’s talent to a higher power: “God gave
him a gift.”
