The Irish Catholic – an independent weekly newspaper focusing on faith, family, social justice and international development with a readership of over 90,000 – is seeking to recruit a new reporter to join the team of journalists based at our Dublin offices.
Working closely with the Managing Editor, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the news and features output of the newspaper across both print and digital platform. A key part of the role will be focusing on preparations for next year’s expected visit to Ireland by Pope Francis.
The successful candidate will be a published news/features writer with an ability to work across a broad range of topics. Experience of compiling engaging and entertaining content is essential. The role might particularly suit someone who has been working in a busy regional or local newspaper.
Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills combined with a hunger to work accurately to tight deadlines and the highest professional standards is essential.
The successful candidate will work closely with external contributors and build on the newspaper’s excellent network of relationships.
