‘We are ambassadors for Christ’ was the theme for the Omagh Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group’s recent annual Day of Renewal.
People travelled from various parts of counties Tyrone, Derry, Antrim, Armagh, Donegal and Monaghan for the gathering of prayer and praise, and to listen to Fr Gerry Campbell, chaplain to the National Service Committee for Charismatic Renewal in Ireland.
Fr Campbell spoke about how renewal had reawakened his priesthood, and the importance of making time for prayer and deepening it to gain the courage to “stand out and stand up for Christ”.
He stressed the need for people to get together in groups to pray, saying: “The New Evangelisation will take off once we get more prayer groups going.”
