Dear Editor, Your columnist David Quinn’s assertion that “faith, morality and politics are inextricably linked” (Cost of separating faith and politics IC 29/5/14) is correct.
Catholics and other Christians need to recognise that who you vote into political power or who controls media-spin, controls society and shapes Irish society to their value system.
Catholics need to mobilise for a fast approaching – and possibly early – general election, where those elected will dictate policy on law, abortion, education, same-sex marriage, and conscientious rights in hospitals and schools.
Pro-abortion politicians and parties glad-handing Mass goers outside church gates need to meet Catholics who are unashamed to vocally defend human life against abortion.
Only Catholics can uphold Catholic values.
Yours etc.,
Oliver Maher,
Harold’s Cross,
