The local parish is rallying in support of grieving families in Co. Laois devastated by a car crash that saw the loss of three young lives.
Martin Brophy, Orla Curry and Angela Kelly died in the early hours of Sunday morning when the car they were travelling in crashed at Middlemount on the Rathdowney to Abbeyleix Road.
Parish priest Fr Martin Delaney said it was “a very close knit community” and that the families would not lack for support from their friends and the community.
“They rally around, they do what they can, even if it is just being present, to give someone a hug and say nothing because the words mean very little, it is just to be there. The people on the receiving end of it do feel that support. We can’t protect them from the pain but we can offer them the support,” he said.
