The Poor Clares of Arundel, Sussex have hit No.1 in the official UK classical album charts following the release of their debut album.
The album, Light for the World, was released last week on Decca Records and stormed up the iTunes and Amazon UK albums charts, peaking at #1 and #2 respectively earlier this week.
The album has also taken the No.1 position in both the Classical Artist Album Chart and Classical Specialist Album Chart.
The overwhelming public reaction has come of something as a surprise to Sr Gabriel Davison of the Poor Clares. She said: “We are thrilled that our music has touched the hearts of the public and has reached No.1 in the Classical Chart.
“We hope Light for the World will bring you peace, joy and a sense of calm as you cope during these difficult times of isolation and stress.”
