Argentina – A book drawing on testimonies of Jesuits and Argentinian citizens who have encountered the man who is now Pope Francis has been released in his home country.
Francis: Life and Revolution has been penned by journalist Elisabetta Piqué (pictured), who has personally known Pope Francis since 2001. Not only does the book offer a perspective on the Pontiff’s spirituality, according to the author, but, via testimonies of the poor of Bueno Aires, records the then-Archbishop Bergoglio’s efforts on behalf of the poor, together with testimonies of how he helped people under threat from Argentina’s military junta.
Life and Revolution is currently available only in Spanish and Italian, but plans are afoot for translations into other languages.
