Prayers for Peshawar bomb victims

Pakistan – A prayer service has been held at the Church of All Saints in Peshawar, the site of the September 22 suicide attack on the Christian community. As protests continue to demand greater security for the community, the church reopened to allow for prayers for the 83 lives lost when a suicide bomber struck as worshippers were exiting the church. Over half of the dead were women and children. The protests that have followed the attack have included Muslims as well as Christians, angered at the targeting of a peaceful minority. Some 150 people remain in hospital following the attack, and a number of them are reported to be in a serious condition.

Those wounded have been visited by Archbishop Sebastian Shah of Lahore and Bishop Rufin Anthony of Islamabad.
