Republican slogans were sprayed on the walls of a Presbyterian church in Derry
A catholic priest has condemned a sectarian attack on a Presbyterian church in Derry.
Republican slogans were sprayed on the walls of Ballarnett Presbyterian church in Derry at the weekend, telling the congregation it was “not welcome here”.
Fr Michael McCaughey, Parish Priest of Three Patrons Parish in Derry told The Irish Catholic: “To destroy somebody’s property like that is against the ethos and the welcome that Derry city offers.
“Derry has welcomed a lot of people and every denomination is welcome within our city,” he said.
It is believed the attack took place between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
