Archbishop Eamon Martin has made a new appeal for information to help find the remains of the six people known as “The Disappeared”.
The primate made the appeal when he celebrated Palm Sunday Mass in Armagh with family members of the victims who were killed and secretly buried by republicans during the Troubles.
Archbishop Martin said some families are living a long Good Friday and he appealed to “the conscience of anyone who has information that might help to come for forward to the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims” and allow the families to have a Christian burial for their loved ones.
Since the 1990s, 10 bodies of The Disappeared have been recovered, but six are still missing and a dig for the remains Joe Lynskey began in a Co. Meath bog earlier this month.
