One of the rising stars of Irish rugby has revealed that he turns to prayer before matches.
Robbie Henshaw, who missed out on Ireland’s world cup opener against Canada last weekend due to a hamstring strain, said prayer was a central part of his pre-match routine.
Henshaw, a former student of Marist College in Athlone, said he always has a “quick prayer” before games.
Asked by the Irish Independent about his pre-match preparation, the rugby player said:
“I just chill out, get ready for the game, a little bit of visualisation and just a quick prayer before I go out onto the pitch.”
