Save the 8th denounce graphic abortion images

The Save the 8th campaign have asked those who erected graphic images relating to abortion outside the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin to “go home”.

The Irish Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (ICBR), who are not believed to be an organisation from Ireland, are infamous for images that have caused uproar and upset on social media.

John McGuirk, spokesperson for Save the 8th, told The Irish Catholic that the ICBR do not represent their campaign. He said: “We’ve asked them to stop, and we’re asking them again in public to stop. We want them to go home.”

Campaign

“You can probably infer what we think of that style of campaign from the fact that we’re not doing it. We have no intention or no desire to upset anyone in this debate. We’re trying to have a civil debate but set out the facts clearly and firmly.”

Dozens of people took to social media to express their disgust at the style of campaigning, calling it “vulgar”, “inconsiderate” and “very hurtful”.
