Le Chéile Secondary School in Dublin have recorded a Le Chéile Blessing, inspired by the many international recordings of The Blessing which have been made during the pandemic.
Speaking to The Irish Catholic, assistant principal Eoin Walshe told of a tragedy that struck the school in July of this year; the death of Dr Syed Waqqar Ali from Covid, father of two boys in the school.
“We wanted to do something to support the family…usually we’d at least send representatives to the funeral. There wasn’t a way for us to support the family in that sense.
“We actually released the video on Friday (October 2) as part of our school feast day, the feast of the Guardian Angels is our feast day. So we had the idea that the link was that the front-line workers are like our guardians at the moment. That was kind of the link we made during the Mass, as a theme.”
