A plaque was unveiled on its main street by the president of its past pupils union and a special Mass in the cathedral followed, at which Bishop John Buckley presided and Fr Teddy Collins was celebrant, assisted by Fr Len O’ Brien, both past pupils.

A social in West Cork hotel was attended by over 300, which included all the present pupils, as well as representatives of parents association, board of management and past pupils union. A colourful pictorial history St Fachtna’s De La Salle 1937 to 2016 was given to everyone.
