Embodying what it means to be a role model, Tyrone woman Kate Grant has shaken headlines this week after being unveiled as an ambassador for a cosmetics giant.
Hailing from Cookstown, Kate (20) who has Down syndrome, has modelled for other companies and was even crowned champion in the Teen Ultimate of the World pageant, but now her eyes are on a new project after being announced ambassador for popular beauty brand Benefit.
Speaking about the achievement, her mother Deirdre said: “She is paving the way for people coming behind her. She is aware of that and wants to spread awareness about inclusion for people with disabilities and that is what she has done from the very start.
“She is aware that she is able to do that in a way some of her friends cannot. She is using her voice for them.”
