There will only ever be one Mass

Dear Editor, Having read the letter by Kieron Wood (IC 08/10/2015) it is obvious that there is continuous ‘Mass confusion’ following the introduction by Vatican II, to enforce upon the faithful Catholics, on the first Sunday of advent 1969, wherein six Protestant denominations collaborated with Vatican II and Pope Paul VI to order a new Mass.

Thus and because the Son of God, Christ Jesus, made man, offered his first Mass in 33AD and every sacramental and sacrificial Mass since, there cannot be nor will be a new valid Mass, via the men of Vatican II, because Christ our Lord has no successor (Heb 7:23).

The word Mass is derived from the Latin ‘Missa’, the Mass is wrapped and inferred in obscurity. Several sacrifices of the Old Testament were types of sacrifice of the first Mass (Gen 1:4).

The first Mass in 33AD (what need of a second Mass by men) was instituted, blessed and consecrated by Christ himself and thus he commanded the apostles to “do likewise” (1 Cor 11:26).

Take the Mass from the apostolic, divine Church and you leave confusion, heresy and unbelief without salvation (Acts 4:12).

Thus the past and continual ‘Mass confusion’ expressed by Kieron Wood regards the two forms of the (old and new) Mass, divinely instituted by Jesus Christ when he said “take ye and eat; this is my body which shall be delivered for you; do this for a commemoration of me” (1 Cor 11:23-26).

There are no new forms – remedies, innovations or substitutes – as per the new, contrived, fabricated Mass of Vatican II, to replace the traditional Mass, in Latin of the faithful and Catholic Church teaching (Luke 22: 19-20).

What of the new ecumenical (many faiths) Mass via the men of different faiths and nature? That was promulgated by Pope Paul VI, after that historic decree was ratified by a vote of 2,158 to 19 votes against in 1962-1965. Amen!

Yours etc.,

Peadar Tunney,
