A Catholic grammar school has reached new heights after all of its A-Level students attained A*-C grades in three or more subjects.
Last week, Ballymena’s St Louis Grammar learned that their 162 Upper Sixth pupils achieved the spectacular results, marking another significant year for the top school in the North.
The top two achievers were Caoimhinn Gormley with four A* grades in Art, Chemistry, Maths and Physics and Caitriona Fitzpatrick with three A* grades in English Literature, French and Moving Image Art and an A grade in Sociology.
Commenting on the huge success, principal Sean Rafferty said: “We are delighted by the way this year’s cohort have risen to the challenges of new A-Level specifications. It is a credit to our students and teachers that over 57% of A-Levels were awarded A*-A grades and over 89% were awarded A*-B grades.
“With such a large cohort of students studying such a wide range of A-Level subjects, these results are simply superb.
