Dear Editor, As the shock waves abound, concerning the revelation of the mass grave of babies in a Church-run institution, once again, I clutch my Bible to my heart and cherish – with every fibre of my being – the precious and infallible Word of God.
One of my favourite Psalms is Psalm139: “For it was You Who created my being… I thank You Lo
rd for the wonder of my being.”
Amidst the atrocities and tragedies of this world, amidst our own personal sufferings we know from Sacred Scripture the healing, loving Word of God that is found in God’s infallible word – the Holy Bible.
Each and every one of those deceased babies – whose membership of the Catholic Church was not embellished with knighthoods, or the like, from some branch of the Vatican – is unique to God our Father, as unique as the ‘great and the good’ who parade up and down places like Lourdes, and those who pose for press and media publicity.
Yours etc.,
Jarlath Vaughan,
Downpatrick, Co. Down.
