A New York-based Irish seminarian who has dedicated his ministry to working with disadvantaged people in the city will feature as part of a forthcoming item on RTÉ television.
Nationwide presenter Colm Flynn spent the day with Niall McDonagh, originally from Galway but studying for the Archdiocese of New York.
Mr Flynn – a regular on the popular magazine programme which airs on RTÉ1 – took to social media to speak of his experience. “I had the privilege of spending the day with Niall McDonagh in the Bronx filming for an upcoming Nationwide on RTÉ1.
“Niall is from Galway and was working as a teacher in Dublin when a number of tragic events in his life lead him to New York and to study for the priesthood, focusing on helping the poor and disadvantaged,” Mr Flynn wrote on Facebook.
The item is expected to air in coming weeks.
