Walking to Knock to feed the world

The charity Mary’s Meals is planning a fundraising walk from Dublin to Knock.

The walk, intended to build on the success of a similar walk last year, begins on August 7 at the Spire on O’Connell Street, and will end in Knock on the feast of the Assumption, August 15.

Talks about the walk, accompanied by a presentation about the charity and a showing of the film Generation Hope, were shown in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, on July 1 and in Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, on July 2. Further talks will take place on July 14 at Annebrook House Hotel in Mullingar, Co. Meath, at the Family Centre in Longford town on July 16, and at the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon town on July 15.

The talk addresses how Mary’s Meals began and now daily feeds 1.1 million children in 13 countries.
