Young people from across the country are coming together in Tullamore this month to express their views, share ideas and celebrate their faith among their own peer group.
Tullamore Junior Parish Pastoral Council is holding its annual National Parish Youth Conference on Saturday, February 25 in St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
The theme this year is ‘Our Faith, Let’s Celebrate!’ and the event will be facilitated by Will Faulkner from Midlands 103, with a wide range of music and fun activities.
Speakers
Guest speakers include Bishop Kieran O’Reilly of Killaloe, Dublin footballer Ger Brennan, The Irish Catholic columnist Andrew O Connell and Jonny Somerville from Youth Alpha Ireland.
”The aim of this conference is to give an opportunity to young people to discuss and share their experiences of faith in a fun and friendly atmosphere,” said Ciara Molloy, Tullamore junior parish pastoral chairperson. ”This day will be packed with topical discussions, interesting talks and open forums.
”What we need most in our world are enthusiastic young people who are willing to work together for a better future,” she said.
”This is a great opportunity to get young people involved in parish life, to contribute their gifts and talents to parish,” said Fr Patrick Donnelly CC, ”and it is important that their voice forms part of our renewal.”
